For all the video game fanatics out there, and based on sales of various consoles and games, there are millions of you, video game testing could be your path to that kind of satisfaction.

Before we go further, let’s take a quick look at what will actually be entailed with becoming a full-time video game tester.

1. Playing video games. This seems like a no-brainer, but most people have the wrong idea with regard to this job requirement.

Instead of merely playing a game straight through in an attempt to beat it, you will be required to seek out bugs and inconsistencies. This means a lot of repetitive replaying of the game.

If you’re attention span isn’t top notch, think about if this is will really appeal to you, as a lot of time will be spent doing the same level over and over again.

2. Taking notes. If you thought notes are merely something for school, this is where you learn that education really does prepare you for the real world.

You will need to maintain detailed notes regarding what you find in your game play.

3. Writing reports. After you’re done playing the game, the companies who hire you need to know what you’ve actually discovered.

For many gamers, this will actually take more time than the actual game play itself. Your reports will need to be detailed, grammatically-correct, and professional grade.
