You can make money writing for content sites on the Internet. It’s pretty easy if you have basic English skills. No need to be an expert or even a really good writer.
It does help to be a decent writer, or you may have trouble getting your work published.
But it’s OK to be average. I know this because I’m an average writer, and I’ve been writing for content sites for years.
There are many content sites to chose from online. There are dozens that I know about, and probably dozens more that I don’t know of.
Some of the well known content sites are HubPages, Squidoo, and InfoBarrel. There are many more, but I won’t list them all. It’s part of your homework to do the research yourself.
If you are just starting out, it would be wise to start with just one of the more well-known websites. Get to know the site, and it’s requirements, before you begin writing. Read all of the rules and regulations, and the writing guidelines for the site you’ve chosen.
Make sure the site you’ve chosen fits well with your writing style. It’s best to stick with things you know at first, so you can minimize any research you may need to do for an article.
If you want to get your feet wet, you don’t want to spend a lot of wasted time when you don’t really know what you’re doing yet. Write a few articles on things you already know, and see how those articles work out for you and the site.
When you’ve gotten familiar with the site, you can then think about learning things like Search Engine Optimization and keyword research.
These things aren’t essential, but you will make more money knowing how content sites really make money.
Content sites make money through advertising, and advertisers make money through advertising for what people are searching for online.
The next thing to do is to build up your library of articles on the site. I like to have at least a hundred articles on a site before I determine what the monetary potential is.
Some people won’t do that much work just to figure out the potential, but it’s kind of hard to determine from just a handful of articles.
Writing for content sites is easy, but it takes a lot of time and effort. It is well worth the time to me.
